Celkom embarked on an ambitious journey to provide a comprehensive logistics solution for both new and existing customers. The vision to create a state-of-the-art 3PL warehousing facility was realised with the development of a brand-new, 15,000 sq. ft. warehouse located just outside York, strategically positioned to service both the North and South of the UK.
The challenge
With the opening of their new facility, Celkom Warehousing faced several key challenges -As demand grew, Celkom needed an pallet racking solution to support the higher volume of goods stored.
Solution
Having outperformed competition in terms of communication and service. Celkom choose Stamina Storage Systems because of their proactive approach and attention to detail to ensure a smooth and efficient project. Here’s how Stamina addressed the challenge:
- Custom Racking Design: The warehouse layout was originally designed with 900mm deep racking, but as pallet sizes changed, the design needed to be revised. Stamina’s protect team recommended using 1,100mm deep AR Pallet Racking, along with 3,400mm beams instead of the original 2,700mm, allowing Celkom to store three pallets per level instead of two. This adjustment significantly increased the overall pallet capacity and better aligned with Celkom’s operational requirements
- High-Quality Materials: Stamina ensured that all components of the racking system were built to the highest standards, capable of handling Celkom’s expected volume and weight requirements.
- Outstanding Customer Service: Throughout the project, Stamina’s project team excelled in communication and service, ensured that Celkom was kept up-to-date on every aspect of the racking installation, addressing any concerns or questions promptly. This level of attention to detail was a key differentiator from competitors.
Results
- Increased Storage Efficiency: The new pallet racking system has allowed Celkom to maximise their storage capacity, accommodating up to 3 pallets per level, with the ability to store over 2,000 pallets in total.
